Pond is our private studio in the Chicago loop. We are now opening our space to engage and support the creative community. 

Offering photo and video production equipment as well as venue rentals.

We are also offering complete merchandise fulfillment as well as content packages, full creative services (i.e. editorial, ecommerce, etc..)

VENUE RENTAL POLICY

  • Venue rental priced hourly
  • 12 am is the latest we can host an event.
  • Load out times should start at 11:30pm, and guests cleared out by 12am.
  • RSVP list must be given to us at least 24 hours prior to the event, we will staff building front door security to verify names on the RSVP list—so you can coordinate with him as well.
  • Renter must arrange clean up, or we can clean for an additional fee (price dependent on the amount of cleaning necessary)
  • No smoking inside, smoking outside building is fine, $150 smoking fee
  • We can provide a bartender for your event with basic liquors, quote on request—if you would like to provide your own bartender, we have a bar countertop ready to use. Drinks can be served, but we cannot technically sell drinks at our venue without a permit.
  • 2-3 of our own staff will be around the event/building, to ensure security and safety.
  • Sound system and stage are setup and ready to use
  • Studio lighting options are available and ready to use
  • 2 bathrooms. Primary bathroom has 2 private stalls. The secondary bathroom is our staff bathroom that will be closed and labeled

PAYMENT TERMS: 

In order to secure the date and time of your event, this signed Agreement must be returned within seven (7) days of receipt together with the required non-refundable deposit of twenty five percent (50%) of the rental total.. Failure to provide the Agreement and deposit within seven (7) days will render this agreement null and void unless otherwise agreed in writing by Sur Le Lac.  The remaining balance is due at the conclusion of the event. Any changes to the BEO must be made at least fourteen (14) days prior to the event date. Changes within fourteen (14) days of the reservation may not be able to be accommodated.  You agree (i) to make payment in the form of cash, credit card, bank check, corporate check, or certified check and (ii) to complete the attached Credit Card Authorization form using only a valid, unexpired credit card and in no event to complete authorization using a debit card, bank card, check card, ATM Card or the like, regardless of payment type. Venue will not accept a Credit Card Authorization form which uses Bank Card information. For all payments via bank check, corporate check or certified check, check must be received at least fourteen (14) business days prior to the event date and must clear prior to the event or all charges will be placed to the credit card listed on the Credit Card Authorization form. Late payments are subject to interest at the higher (I) 1.5% per month, or (II) the maximum legal rate. Should we need to engage an attorney to collect any amounts due, you agree to pay all costs incurred including attorney's fees, court costs and expenses.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Should it be necessary for the patron to cancel the event, the following general policy concerning cancellation charges will apply unless otherwise noted:

0-30 calendar days prior to event: 100% of estimated grand total (including tax, administrative fee and service fee)

31 or more calendar days prior to event: 100% of deposit

LIABILITY:

You agree to indemnify and hold us, our employees, managers, members, affiliates and related entities including parent entities and subsidiaries, and each of their successors and assigns ("Indemnified Parties") harmless against any and all claims, actions, suits, demands, losses and damages (including attorney's fees), arising out of or in connection with any act, omission, negligence on the part of you or any of your agents, guests, patrons, invitees or contractors.

In no event shall Indemnified Parties aggregate liability exceed either (I) return of deposit and other amounts paid if the event is canceled by Sur Le Lac at least 2 days in advance, or (II) the F&B minimum, as applicable, recovery of which shall be the sole and exclusive remedy for any act or omission of the Indemnified Parties including without limitation for breach of this agreement or arising in connection with the parties extra-contractual dealings. Further, you also agree that, regardless of any failure of the sole and exclusive remedy, Indemnified Parties shall in no event be liable for any incidental, consequential, special, indirect, punitive or exemplary damages, lost of use, lost of profits or business interruption.

DISPUTES:

Any and all matters of dispute between the parties to this agreement, whether arising from the event order itself or arising from the alleged extra-contractual facts prior to, during or subsequent to this event order including without limitation fraud, misrepresentation, negligence, or any other alleged tort or other violation of contract, shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the state of Illinois, regardless of the legal theory upon which such matter or dispute is asserted and each party hereby submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of Illinois for purposes of any such proceeding.

Each party hereby waives any claim that any legal proceeding (including any tort claim) has been brought in an inconvenient forum or that the venue of that proceeding is improper. The parties hereto herby waive any right to trial by jury in any action, proceeding, suit, claim or counterclaim brought by or on behalf of any party related to or arising out of this agreement. In the event of a dispute between parties, the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover its reasonable attorney's fee. The terms and conditions contained in this event order shall supersede the terms of any amendment, addendum or other written supplement or modification.

MISCELLANEOUS:

The parties intend this Agreement to constitute the complete, exclusive, and fully integrated statement of their agreement and can only be amended in writing signed by both parties. No breach of this agreement shall be deemed to have been waived unless the waiver is in writing signed by the non-breaching party. If any provision of this agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect any other provisions.

Time is of the essence in connection with these terms and conditions. Upon receipt of this signed event order contract together with payment of the applicable amounts, we will consider the event confirmed and definite; until then we reserve the right to offer the reservation to other parties. For private events, we reserve the right to open to the general public after the contracted event time frame. 

COVID-19 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND WAIVER:

By booking and attending this event you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. You and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and hereby release, waive, and forever discharge any and all liability, claims, and demands of whatever kind or nature against 8 Hospitality, or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers for any illness or injury.

CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE:

Your signature signifies your acceptance of these terms and conditions and authorizes the restaurant to charge your credit card for all services contracted.
